Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: The week at PHE

We’re pleased to bring you our round-up highlighting some of PHE’s online activity from the past week. Here’s your chance to catch up on what you might have missed including:

Nurse coaching
The NHS 5 Year Forward View  sets out the need for an upgrade in prevention and public health and this week @MrsBosanquet blogged to argue that nurse coaching could be one way of facilitating this, helping people to have far greater control of their own care.

Physical activity slide sets
Need stats and information on child or adult physical activity? This week we published two new slide sets presenting key data in clear, easy to understand charts and graphics.

Slide1Cancer data
On Friday ONS published new PHE cancer registration service data on patients diagnosed with cancer in England (2013). Breast, prostate, lung, and colorectal cancer accounted for over half of the malignant cancer registrations in England for all ages combined.

Health in prisons
One of PHE’s roles is to reduce the often large health inequalities that exist between the most deprived and the least deprived groups in England. A group suffering significant health inequalities are people in prisons and this week @ejomoore explained why improving prisoner health is essential for public health.

Physical activity campaign
Last week we launched this year’s 10 Minute shake up campaign and we're now urging people to sign up for a free pack, full of surprises to help kids get active this summer.
