Sean McPhail is a Senior Analyst at the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service in Public Health England. After beginning his career with a Phd and postdoctoral research in Physics he worked in just-in-time logistics before starting in cancer intelligence eleven years ago. Sean now leads and manages teams of analysts working on the National Cancer Diagnosis Audit and cancer therapeutics data and is an Honorary Senior Research Associate at the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health, University College London.
Sean has multiple publications in referral practice in primary care, routes to diagnosis and cancer survival by stage at diagnosis. He is currently working to combine routine public health data from multiple treatment, patient management and diagnostic sources to build a real-world picture of patient experience and outcomes across the cancer pathways.
