Over the past few years PHE has been involved in investigating the various threats climate change is likely to have on health in the UK.
Dr Clare Heaviside is Principal Climate Change Scientist at PHE’s Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards. She holds honorary academic affiliations with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of Birmingham, and is Associate Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. She has worked on the impacts of Climate Change on Health for 8 years, and co-edited the Department of Health commissioned ‘Health Effects of Climate Change in the UK’ report in 2012.
