Jolyon Medlock

Jolyon Medlock is a Medical Entomologist at Public Health England, based at Porton Down. After training as a medical entomologist/parasitologist he worked on a number of research and humanitarian projects in Africa. Since 2002 he has led the HPA/PHE Medical Entomology group and is responsible for advising government on the risks posed to public health by arthropod vectors (mosquitoes, ticks) and vector-borne diseases. This includes coordinating national vector surveillance programmes and conducting field-based research on the impact of climate and environmental change on vectors and their pathogens. He also advises the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control on vector-related issues.
