Dr Judith Bell's role spans Public Health England and NHS England, her PHE post is embedded in national Specialised Services Commissioning providing public health leadership into the Clinical Effectiveness Team and developing and supporting the process of clinical policy making priority setting for Specialised Services.
Judith has a very wide range of experience. She qualified as a Public Health Consultant in 1995 and has eight years' experience at Board level as a Primary Care Trust Executive Director of Public Health as well as Local Authority experience. She studied Physiology at Bristol, Medicine at Southampton and she has Master’s degree in Medical Ethics and Law from Keele. She also qualified as a GP and also continued in clinical practice alongside her public health career until 2006. Other roles include being an examiner for the Faculty of Public Health where she is Chair of the Part B examiners and prior to that she was Deputy Chair from 2010.
